Edward I. Sumber, was admitted to the practice of law in the State of New York in 1969 and is also a Certified Public Accountant. He was affiliated with the international public accounting firm of KMG Main-Hurdman. He is a graduate of Brooklyn Law School where he was Senior Editor of the Brooklyn Law Review and holds a B.S. degree in Accounting from Brooklyn College. He is Past President of the Putnam County Bar Association, a lecturer on real estate at the School of Real Estate of the Hudson Gateway Association of REALTORS, Inc. He has been active in various community organizations including the
Rotary Club of Carmel which he joined in 1974. |

Ed has authored over two hundred fifty articles for various periodicals on the subject of Real Estate Law, Corporate Law and Legal Ethics. He has lectured widely on the subject of Real Estate Brokerage, Anti-Trust Law, Tax Law and Estate Planning.
He is a former member and past Chairman of the Grievance Committee for the Ninth Judicial District which supervises the disciplining of attorneys in Westchester, Putnam, Dutchess, Rockland and Orange Counties.
Ed is the past Chairman of the Board of the Putnam County Economic Development Corporation. He has been rated by Martindale-Hubbell with its highest AV rating and is one
of a handful of attorneys
in Putnam County to hold this distinction. The AV rating indicates that in the opinion of the attorneys practicing in the area, Ed's work product is superior to excellent and that he maintains the highest ethical standards.
